    Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone can offer any feedback on the above site?

Thinking of booking for next July/August. We're a family of 5 with 3 children (ages 2 to 6 years).

We like good pool and facilities, kids club and to be close (walking /cycling distance) to restaurants and bars.

    Thanks :)

We stayed there at Easter a few years back. As far as facilities go, other than the swimming pools, it is similar to the better sites here. The pools are quite nice but we mostly just used the indoor one as the water in the outdoor pool was not heated and quite cold at that time of year. There was no kids club when we were there so I can't comment on that.

The site is quite close to the village so you can walk to the markets and shops but the beach area where most of the restaurants would be is a couple of miles away.

We enjoyed our stay and the owners were very nice but it didn't have that something extra that would make it stand out.

Thank you for your reply. I'm also considering La Litterol and Clarys Plage both of which seem nicer in terms of facilities but from the reviews you'd need a car also.

We've stayed in some great sites over the last few years but it seems its a compromise between reasonable central location and on site facilities :(

we were in st jean de mont this year middle of august. we wanted to stay in clarys plage but they don't take bookings it first come first serve and they have very few touring spots its mostly mobiles. so we booked camping Acapulco its the site next door and every bit as good, large pool, water slides, kids pool, bar, take away, play area, kids club and shop on site. outside of the site in walkin distance you have a super market, bakery, beach, shops, carnival, water park, mini golf and pony trekking. st jean de monts itself was very busy as the French have there holidays in august to. had to search for parking in the evenings and all the restaurants were very busy..

Thank you very much for the recommendation. Camping Acapulco seems to be exactly what we're looking for in terms of facilities and location!

Are restaurants and bars within a reasonable walking / cycling distance? Don't like packing up the camper to drive while we're away.

Looks like we'll be booking this site for 2 weeks in August. Thanks again.

Camping Acapulco is a very short walk to Les Mouettes (the town and the camp-site), which has a good sized supermarket, fast food type snack bars, bakery, rotisserie and some pizza places. Another 10 minutes walking will see you at the beach, the area is actually Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez and a summer town. There will also in July-August be a sort of mini-funfare. Depending on what you like to do, you would not need car once set up, as you will have everything you need to hand.

20 Minutes by bike towards Saint Jean, there are more beaches, markets and the main resort area. On the way will be the water park (cheaper after 16.00) and larger fun fare. 25-30 minutes by bike the other way is Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie. The area is very flat so there are no hard cycles and many of the cycle paths are separate from the road ways.

It will be very busy in July - August and to be honest there can be quite a few traffic jams at the roundabouts!

That's sounds ideal thank you for your response. Good to know there are a couple of towns within walking or cycling distance- love exploring different areas and trying new restaurants and bars, though with 3 young children, a base for a week or more is now more practical :( Stayed close to St Giles Croix de Vie last year and enjoyed it.

We have holidayed two minutes away by car for the last five years in a house (three young boys), so if you have any specific questions feel free to ask! Otherwise enjoy.
