I think he needs to be very disciplined on the inside in denying space to Broner or he's going to be eating uppercuts all night. I know Maidana is the polar opposite of Paulie, but Paulie kept himself safe at times by bending low and keeping his left shoulder stuck in the pit of Broner's stomach. I worry that Maidana is going to be too square and is going to be caught standing straight up in front of Broner a lot of the time.

Offensively, I think the key against Broner is all about making him use his feet, making him backpedal. Hopefully Maidana is physically strong enough to do that, but I don't get the impression that it'll be easy to do it. If he finds a way to make that happen he'll have a great chance as Broner on the move looks like a woman with her arms full of groceries.

He has no fluidity on the move at all, too rigid and too reliant on his shoulder to protect himself. Whether Maidana's got the tools and the nous to put him on the back foot or not remains to be seen.

I think Maidana loses for one reason. Speed! Everything else is a bit of speculation. The obvious difference here is that Broner is far sharper.

Broner's also more accurate, has better timing, and is much better defensively despite his weak footwork.

Maidana needs to be aggressive and throw power shots. He basically needs to forget any notion of boxing and go straight for the jugular.

I have no problem with fighters playing the heel in boxing, it's part of the game. However, I do like the guys who play that role to play it well, and Broner doesn't really. The guy doesn't have any charisma or wit at all. The build-up to the Malignaggi fight really exposed that.

He's just very fake and unconvincing, and the main impression you get from him is that he's imitating other people than ever actually being himself. That's not being the guy in the black hat. That's just being yet another attention seeking reality TV idiot. Fine, it gets him attention, but it's not something I've any interest in.

Some of the quotes from Broner in the build up to the Paulie fight were absolutely awful. "It's on the floor like a floor tile." Jesus wept.

Broner does copy Mayweather obviously but he's actually alright when he's not trying to hype fights or trash talk. FMJ is a huge role model for black boxers so he was always gonna get swaggerjacked at some stage lol. Have you see"About Billions"? It's a few youtube episodes following Broner around, pretty much doing the same stuff. I don't find him that fake, he's just a big kid playing around with lots of money and having a good time. I enjoyed it.

No but i don't find Broner entertaining i just hate him, i would never by a ppv involving him or pay to watch him fight. I dont want to support him and his antics make me loose faith in boxing if he becomes a big star.

Broner all day. Easy decision win, or body shot stoppage. He can throw hard hooks to the body and Maidana will be wide open to that. And it's funny that people are saying he has no power just based off the Paulie fight.. Broner can hit hard when he wants, and won't be bullied by Maidana's 'superior strength'.

As to his personality and private life, I don't care, I'm just following the sport, but he has people talking about him. If you hate him and you're on here writing posts about him, that's better for him than having skills like Rigo and nobody knowing who you are.

Very noble of you. Fact is Broner IS RECOGNISED BY THOSE IN THE KNOW FOR HIS TALENT. He's also just managed to make sure everyone else knows aswell. Boxing is a short career, if you've got the skills to do well and make money, then make as much as possible as fast as possible, because you never know when it could be all over for you, and what have you got then?
