Having a problem with PSU for the TV Philips 47 PFL 5604/H12 anyone know
where i can buy a PSU off the shelf for this? can find power supplies for similar TVs but not the exact one, i really don't want to go messing with
the board at component level this close to Christmas.

    thanks very much

Look at the electrolytic caps, see if the end caps are buldging outwards...

    Have you tried Philips?

Hello Cerco, yep, i tried MF Services in Cork they no longer deal with Philips equipment and referred me to a UK call centre, was sent around the houses ended up dealing with "world of parts" with a 60day wait.

I got out the multimeter earlier, i reckon i've spotted the problem,
it looks like a diode that's the problem!!!! which is surprising,
but you know with these things
it could be several things, i'll snip and solder new diode on top and try it.

i've no problem paying for the new board, but i just don't have the money
to buy a new TV especially this time of year.

I would have thought that Philips would at least have spares easily available. it'll be the last philips equipment i'll buy!!!.

I'll let ye know how i get on, might save enough for a pint of plain :)

    Thanks
