Last-minute holiday deals

Are these a thing of the past? I remember they were everywhere in the 90s. Had a look online and it doesn't seem to be a 'thing' anymore. I really want to go away at Easter but can't book until I get some exam results in Feb and find out whether or not I need to repeat. Flights are reasonable now but I'm sure February is too late to book for Easter and they'll be really expensive. Does anyone still book last minute? Is there some sort of trick to it?

I dunno does it save you that much anymore.. you'd see the odd few deals on gohop or lowcostholidays for last minute bookings, but not much cheaper than booking it 5 months in advance..

The flights do get more expensive the later you leave it alright.

I think for a good deal you need to really go last minute (ie, 1 or 2 days before). Hotels sometimes will do deals to fill up empty rooms, etc

I must be the only person on the planet who has never gotten one of these 'deals'.

I hate the fockers who tell me , ''oh yes, got 2 weeks in 5 star blah blah blah for only a fiver. '' With free transport, meals coke and hookers thrown in..

    Feck off will yiz..

Book your holiday now and study hard for your exams. Knowing that a fail/repeat will scupper your plans should be good motivation.

You'll hardly get a "last minute" deal for Easter now.......

You get lots of these hopping up is when there's a surplus of seats on the market - generally that's going to be May through to October. Around Easter they've less guaranteed seats and accommodation to shift, so unless sales are low, theres no guarantee of either a deal, or a massive discount, cancellations excepted.

I've already done them. I did work hard, but the pass rate is only 50%, so I have to be realistic. They're professional exams, not college ones.
