The job market in Ireland is extremely tough at the moment unless you have specific skills or are multi-lingual. There are over 400k people out of work.

What skills do you have? Again the average salary depends on the sector and the experience you have.

    extremely tough...oh:(
as i am from hong kong so i know cantonese and chinese, also fair korean, but are asian languages popular in ireland?
um...but i want to have a basic idea of the salary, so, let say, waitress?
and is the living standard high in ireland? how much one usually spend per month@@?
    thx a lot!!

I don't want to give you the impression you'd definitely get a job, but the restaurant trade in Dublin seems to be getting better at the moment, there are a lot of new places opening, if you have waitress experience I'd say it's possible you could find work. The minimum wage is €8.65 per hour or so. How much you spend per month is completely variable really, renting a room in a house would be cheaper than renting your own apartment for example.

There is tens of thousands of Chinese and about 10,000 Koreans in Dublin, particularly Dublin 1. There is streets which are pretty much chinese and Koreans restuarnts, shops , hair salons etc. Many you could email them to see what they have to say about the jobs market. But with Cantonese and Korean your one in probably 100,000. I wont think you could earn a great wage. But Chinese have the lowest unemployment rate of any nationality in Ireland at 6%.

You need to consider that rent in Dublin is extremely expensive for people on low incomes. You probably will find a job, but dont expect an amazing wage. Dont believe all the hype of their being no jobs. I know plently of Italians who had no jobs back in Italy, doing pretty well for themselves in Ireland.

Very little chance (unless one of them is running an Asian-themed ethnic restaurant as a fundraiser, and hires you as a waitress.)

Also, you need to think about what kind of visa you can get, that will let you work.

Teach Chinese, there are loads of business grad learning it as it's pretty obvious which way the wind is blowing.
