Volvo S40 - headlight fogging up

    have checked for cracks and there are none

    Anyone have this problem :confused:

    Waters getting in, the access point at the back of the unit - is that not fully secured/missing?

    It is fully secured

    Check the seal is intact. Pop a bag of silica gel into the housing, it will absorb the moisture.

    I not know about putting anything in the houseing as they a xenon bulbs

    Try drying the inside out with a hair dryer.

    Ill try that first and the silica bag all so just to find a safe place

    Not sure about the bi-xenon version but from memory the headlight on the S40 is easy to remove. Just remove the metal pin that holds the headlight in place and disconnect the block connection at the back. You can then take then entire headlight out and remove the plastic cover at the rear.

    And when you do remove it, dry it out with a hairdryer and re-seal the edges with silicone sealant. If you have a plastic cap at the back, then tape some silica gel to the cap.
