So here I am about half way through my SG1 run through and I realise that by far Jacob Carter is my absolute favourite character. He rocks!
The Tok'ra in general are pretty cool (aside from Anise who annoys me).

So anyone else have any favourites, aside from Jack Daniel Sam and Teal'c???

Daniel Jackson by a long shot. There probably wouldn't be a functioning Stargate programme without him, e saves their ass just about every week and earth would be toast over the whole arc without him.
He even manages to learn how to shoot properly by about season 7.:D

Jackson for me too I think. There's so many though, Maybourne too is another of my fav's

Never understood why he didnt invest in some contact lenses. :D

But what about other not regular characters.

Oops, missed the bit about not the main guys...
I liked Agent Burke. Mainly because of his awesome AR15 with the drum magazine and grenade launcher. :-)

    Baal (Cliff Simon)

We can stop discussion now. :)

Have to say Baal was pretty cool. and very handsome, despite the fact that his eyes glowed!

I think the 2 reasons are fairly obvious from the picture.

I may be naïve here, but what kind of underwear is she wearing that has straps like that holding them up?

(Not trying to be pervy, just genuinely perplexed...)

Yeah, but it's funny seeing an old senile person command a massive armada of powerful alien spaceships :p

    Raises finger "Supreme Commander Thor"

Can't beat O'Neill though. The guy had an Asgard battle ship named after him. :D

Was a real shame he was fizzled out (promoted).

He was offered the chance iirc to keep going as the leader of SG1 but wanted to spend more time with his family.

Surprised no one has mentioned Hammond yet.. amazing actor (that had real military experience)

But probably more than anything, if you every watch the cast interview there is a real affection for him from everyone.

he will be missed and on a related note.. was awesome that they named a ship after him

Hammond of Texas *waves hand over head*

    Legend!

favourite 'bad' guy would be Baal

favourite good Guyhas to be Supreme commander Thor

honorable mention to Anise' 2 good reasons, love the way she liked jack but the Gaould fancied Daniel

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,906 ✭✭✭SarahBM

Correction. Tok'ra, not Goa'uld. They get REALLY mad if you call them a Goa'uld.
As far as Tok'ra go, I did like Alwin. Unfortunate he didnt make it of Revanna. Jacon/Selmac is still the coolest though.

Baal is just gorgeous. I know he is a mass murderer etc. but god he is handsome!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Bra'tac either. Not bad for an old man :)

of one hundred and thirty three!

y'know if push came to shove I would join join the ba'al camp, he seemed to be the only one of the gaould with the capacity to actually lead a civilisation, and i'd say his time on earth would have taught him valuable lessons in the economics of population control, like how he dealt with the jaffa in the alternate time line.

a capable leader who saved this galaxy on more than one occasion

    Vote Ba'al

If by best you mean weird and annoying, then ya!
I really need to get back on track with ny run through

Sgt Siler (Dan Shea). He just used to get electrocuted and thumped around a bit in the earlier Seasons, but they started giving him some lines then later on. Shea is one of the stuntmen (and co-ordinator) on the series hence the throwing him across the room a lot but he has some classic lines.

Walter in charge of the gate is great too.

So ladies and gents and aliens, I am nearing the end of my Stargate SG1 run through.
There are so many great characters in this show.

I have a whole new despise for the Ori and everything they represent, a new found love for Daniel Jackson. Vala has grown on me I admit it. I like Cam Mitchell a lot more this time round.

I miss Jacob, and he remains my all time favourite.

I have noticed that Sam has really grown into the leadership role in seasons 9&10. This is nicely tied up with her taking command in Atlantis. She is a great female role model as far as characters go.

This show is so good I just dont want it to end!

It's gotta be "Hammond of Texas"

With Major/Colonel Samantha Carter in second place. "indeed"

Definitely Baal. I mean come on. :D You just have to love the acting. Oh and I can not forget on Rodney McKey... I know it's from Atlantis but hey. :D He's the best.
