    Hi,

I have a good quote from zurich for €360 for 3rd party and €411 for fully comprehensive which includes breakdown assist and windscreen cover.

The 3rd party insurance does not include these extras.

The car is only worth €1,500

Is it worth paying the extra €50 for these extras and also having my own car covered with fully comprehensive??

    Thanks

I see your point but I have been paying fully comp for a few years now and never once made a claim for nothing.

This was me last year at renewal time, and I've since used both.
    €50 well spent

The year you stop paying for it is the year you'll need it!

Read the fine print......is there any excess on the policy?
Will the breakdown recovery guy take you & your broken down car home or just take you to the nearest garage and have to charge you extra for going outside of his remit to the insurance company if you want the car taken elsewhere?
'Comprehensive cover' does not mean full cover at this moment in time. I would be asking the questions first before i sign up.

Zurich are very reasonably priced this year, well for me anyway, glad I checked them out.

I was with Aviva but gone up this year and a little reluctant to go with 123.ie, which are the cheapest, so I think I will go with Zurich this year.

Yeah I see your point but would cost alot more not having it in the first place, thanks

    €300 excess I think.

with my own insurance dropping down to €600ish it just wouldnt be worth it personally to lose out on fully comp for the sake of say €100..

needless to say I would always keep a daily driver on fully comp and maybe only have tpft on a car that will see very little mileage over a year.

Insurance is what it is, its there to cover your arse just in case you get involved in an accident or any form of mishap, if the fully comp is worth the extra peace of mind, you might never need it, but at least its there just in case the unexpected happens.
