sometimes I wonder about him, he's not interested in current affairs, doesn't watch documentaries about the big bad and beautiful world around us and what I consider thought provoking television shows that are on from time to time, He doesn't understand South Park because it's just a cartoon he says. Seems to be brainwashed by the likes of home and away and sky sports and Facebook. He's 34 and has a responsible job where he's quite successful so it's not that he's stupid or anything.
I asked him would he switch over to the celtic game or to a documentary about Nelson Mandela but no, he says he's always wanted to watch this film, what should I do?i can't take it anymore. It just doesn't seem to register with him that this film is bloody ridiculous and not aimed at his age group, how can he want to watch this? I don't think there's any hope for him
    Rant over.:)

He's watching it for hoop I'd imagine. I'd watch almost anything if there's decent hoop in it.

I'd say he's turned already, Twilight is just the confirmation.

Careful in case he goes for the throat

This wouldn't have happened in the 80s as every teenage chick magazine had an agony aunt you could spam with stuff like my brother is so mean or my boyfriend wants to kiss with tongues.

Cheers lads, just wanted a bit of moral support and have your ears leant/lended. I'm just baffled, he's not trying to piss me off, he genuinely wants to watch it.

Well if it's any consolation I'd agree with your choice of programmes. I don't even know what Twilight is but it sounds ****e

I have nowhere else to go at the moment, at the end of the day I'll abide by his rules of course, this scenario to me begs the question why do some people want to watch absolute tripe on the box, back in the day I lived with folk who loved made in Chelsea and the only way is Essex, the snippets of these shows I've watched I couldn't help but think that part of humanity is doomed.

That's a bit extreme. I've watched both those shows they're not that bad.

He's 34, has a responsible job, and has interests (albeit different from your own). Sounds like a mature adult.

You think he's weird for not fitting into some weird stereotype you have and have started a thread because he won't change channel to accommodate you

    How old are you? 12?

EDIT: Only seeing some of other comments now. I still think you're over reacting and learn that some people like different things that you don't. It's just life

Ah no he's not weird, never said he was, he's a great lad
I'm a good bit older than 12. I just wanted to hear your light hearted thoughts on ****e tv that that happens to be popular and at the same time expressing my thoughts on my bro watching what I consider absolute ........
    Job done it seems

...i can't take it anymore. It just doesn't seem to register with him....

I don't think it is registering with you, that all you have to do is to walk out through the strange looking hole in the wall called a door. Fascinating things doors, they're kinda like portals. Give it a try and I guarantee your suffering will end.

He has a dose of the gay.

No it's nice and warm in here, if anything this thread has given me a new appreciation for himself that was needed, going out tomorrow for a drink with him so we can bond.

I don't see how South Park is any more 'thought provoking' than Twilight.

I don't see how South Park is any more 'thought provoking' than Twilight.

South Park has it's own spin on some current issues, makes fun of celebrities and organisations and highlights them in a humorous way. Scientology, oil drilling companies and Paris Hilton were great examples of this.
Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Sorry, might not of been clear on that one. I love football, he loves football. Couldn't live without it. But surely it's good to venture outside these realms on the box from time to time?
