It sounds like a very serious accident.

Was just out on Sandyroad Road, walking the dog. The bike was still there. Terrible to see.

Stright stretch of well lit road.

According to the Garda twitter, critical condition in Vincents, haven't seen/heard anything otherwise!

Guys can we please only post based on reliable/official sources (the Garda Twitter a/c being one, but hearsay, even from the Gardai not being one), and provide links. In addition there is to be no speculation over exactly what has happened here - that's for the authorities to determine

    Thanks

Just to let you guys know, the cyclist is a friend of mine and she is out of ICU in Vincent's but has several fractures to her skull. She is however talking and I have been told that she is aware of what happened.

Me and my 5 year old witnessed the incident as we were walking out of balally estate. So glad she survived and hope she makes a full recovery, it was a horrendous collision.

I don't know if it's allowed on boards.ie or whatever, but can you describe what you witnessed?

Was there anyway to avoid the collision, in you opinion?

MOD VOICE: Lets not, it is in the hands of the Gardai and anyone who describes the incident before due process has occured will find themselves banned.

Sorry I certainly have no intention in describing what happened. I'm just glad she's recovering.
