Without wanting to start the whole Nook love-in thread - the Nook glowlight is £49 from asdadirect.

The glowlight is worth the extra imo, I don't think there's a huge difference in the readers otherwise. Although I do note it's more difficult to obtain content for the Nook at this stage.

Of course it is. But you should have bought it in argos for the same price + €10 voucher.

I got a Nook when they were going cheap a few months back, if you root it you can get a heap of other functionality too. Assuming the glowlight can be rooted as easily, that's totally the way to go.

This is the newest version of the basic Kindle, right? I know there are Paperwhites etc. but this is the same kindle you'd get it you ordered form Amazon.co.uk? I'd prefer not to get landed with an old version.

Thanks Pauleoin, picked one up today. To answer the question re. the model it is the newest wifi e-ink model that you would get from Amazon if you ordered from there, just bear in mind that the paperwhite models are also available and they have built in backlight and better resolution(more expensive though) .
The argos voucher deal is ending today btw.

If you can get to a Tesco in the UK or know someone who can, Tesco have them for £49.

Don't know if this will suit it is a refurbished Kindle 4 wifi from Zavvi for €49.99, also not sure if they will deliver electronics to Ireland, you may have to try parcel motel.

Does anyone know of any physical stores with good deals? I've probably left it a bit late to order online!
