Looking for a reasonably priced SRAM GXP crankset. It would make swapping over from TT to roadie a lot easier for me!

Reasonably priced you say? How about a 48/34 110BCD GXP chainset for 38e, including a bottom bracket.

Wow...cheers for that! Alas it's a 9 speed, I need 10. Also no 172.5 option but I would have gotten over that. Thanks anyway.

They're more or less mutually compatible, 9/10 speeds that is, in fact I have a TA chainring which says explicitly that it is for 9/10 speeds.

Ring to ring spacing for a '9 speed only' would be less than 0.25mm wider than a '10 speed only' chainset, and thats if the machining and forging tolerances are accurate. You could gently sand the inner face (the bit which touches the spider) of one of the chainrings, or sand the anodising off the spider if you're very picky.

You'll only notice it when you're fully cross chained on the small ring and the smallest cog, if there ever is a problem. I reckon you should give it a shot, at the very least all you'll get a new bottom bracket.
