I can't believe that you think they would know. I haven't been stopped but have the disc in the window.

had similar before … Garda asked for my DOE cert….took me 15 minutes to explain there is no such thing for the windscreen….and if there was there is no requirement to display it.

If the Gardaí don't know it exists then why would they query it?

Tell them it's a new christmass decoration you have up on the screen.

The CRVT details are stored on the central computer, so it checks itself against the reg, so you don't need to put the details in.

You'll need a 3 disc holder for the additional disc now.

no problems here, 2 checkpoints and garda checked windscreen and waved me on

think they are more interested in drink/driving detection at the moment

For the second time this week, I have been delayed at checkpoints due to the Gardaí not having a clue what a CVRT disc is and what it is for.

Are they not briefed on such things?

Oh yes Mr Alan Shatterpants has pumped millions into the Gardai and ensuring they have the best of equipment, training, resources etc

Seriously, the guards haven't had such briefings since 2010. They have no money for anything any more.

There's no money to send an email to each garda station!?

Since when do the gardai need to be spoon fed? They are intelligent professionals who can digest information sent to them with updated rules of the road.

I have great time for AGS generally, but seriously - email ?? Lol. ..

You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

What's this new fangled invention? Imagine sending updates to thousands of people instantly instead of booking a venue to speak to them every time a small change is made to the rules ;)

    Your funny.
Legally speaking how are people informed of changes in the law regarding rules of the road.

The problem is that each time they send an email, the stamp gets left behind on the screen.
They will now have to spend E5 million on a consultant to sort that out.
Then they might know about dat aul' compuuuther business.
Seriously I used to maintain printers and the likes, and the one down the Garda station looked like one of their suspects, I think they used a nightstick on it.
