Motor Tax PIN Retrieval Unsuccessful

Looks like I messed up and forgot my car bought two weeks ago was out of tax. So now I've to pay Nov and a fine. However, when I went to pay yesterday, and again today, the PIN retrieval system keeps telling em details are incorrect. It doesn't specify which details, even though I entered everything as per the newly arrived Registration Cert. Anyone had experience of this? Am I better off just slouching off to the Tax Office?

just do it by post. You don't have to pay a fine, just one months arrears plus the tax from 1st dec

I had a similar experience a while back. All I did was email motortax@dttas.ie and explained the situation. They responded the following day with a new PIN. It was refreshingly and scarily fast and efficient!!

Thanks, did this immediately and if it fails I'll take Corktina's response and post it.

My details are messed up on their system with the addresses. My 1st line on it is just a . And the actual address starts on the 2nd line o-0

I emailed the address mentioned above. Received a quick reply which was a FAQ. Message said to reply if question not answered within the FAQ. Did that and it was sorted within 24 hours. Very prompt.
