Line-up just announced - Dolores O Riordan backed by the Irish Chamber Orchestra, The Strypes, Maverick Saber, The Coronas and Leading Armies. Will Leahy is hosting. The event will be broadcast live from Limerick City.

Tickets for the concert are 22.50. Will you be going or watching on TV?

The event marks the start of Limerick City of Culture 2014. Organisers expect 20,000 in the city between the concert and the earlier fireworks display.

Astonishing and welcome lack of the Frames and Glen Hansard.

Limerick has made history after winning its bid to be the first ever Irish City of Culture in 2014!

    http://www.limerick.ie/living/cityofculture2014/

Hang on - Dublin was European City of Culture in 91 and Derry-Londonderry, was UK City of Culture in 2013

Are we just making up stuff now?

Vote for Mullingar, Westmeath Capital of Culture 2015
