To participate in the trial you are required to be an eircom broadband customer. To facilitate in this trial you must download a small piece of software to your laptop or PC. It’s very simple to download the software, all you need to do is download the installer via the link below and then allow the software to run on your laptop or PC. Only your home (landline) telephone number is required to be entered during the download process so that our technical partner’s systems can identify the location of the software. The whole process will take only a couple of minutes. Once your PC or laptop is switched on, the software will run in the background. You do not need to do anything else! The software does not record, capture or transmit any user, content or application information at all.

I was just reading a tread about, scammers posing as reps from eircom, tricking people into downloading a virus into their computers to gather bank details and such.

Just to make people aware of this. In case they are fooled into downloading a virus and it being on the eircom site showing them suggesting Downloading software for what ever reason.

    Hi SterlingArcher
I would be very interested in reading this thread if you have the link.
I can assure you that the one linked above is a legitimate and tested eircom trial.
If anyone should have any queries about this trial post us here, or PM us.
We have also posted more on this issue here which should cover the issue raised here.

It's daft the URL doesn't end in eircom.net

How can anyone know "random domain name" site is authentically eircom?

    Hi watty
This is being handled by an external agency for eircom, but I get your point and have passed this on.
    Thanks
