    Whos your fav wrestler?

What made you a fan of Pro WQrestling?

    WCW or WWF?

How confident are you of reaching the Semi Finals of ATH?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,956 ✭✭✭✭Omackeral

Oh a tough start. My two favourites growing up were the British Bulldog and the 123 Kid. Funnily enough, the two matches that got me liking them were their bouts against Bret Hart. Was devasted when Bulldog went heel, I said I didn't care and I'd still support him... But then he cut his hair :(

The thing that go me into Wrestling was the main event of Summerslam 92 at Wembley. I recall watching it with my cousins and my uncle and it was such a big deal. Loved it. The house was split too, half Davey Boy, half Bret.

Ah man WWF all the way. Even today among mates if something is second rate (like a takeaway, a movie, anything) we'll say "ah that's a bit WCW isn't it?". We're weird.

ATH semi finals? Well it's my first go so was happy to get through one round. We'll have to see, I hear the guy im facing as a few Mods in his pocket!

If vince Mc called you to be a superstar what would your gimmick be and who would you feud against first?

    What is your favourite finisher?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,555 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Copy and paste questions for me:

What debut/run has disappointed the most after hearing so much about them or seeing promos?
Like I said when asking the others this question, Preferably not one of the WCW/ECW guys in the Invasion since they were pretty much fubar in comparison to what they were in their previous companies.

What WWE star do you think doesn't deserve the push they're getting and who do you think has a poor gimmick?

Who would you push and how would you push them?

Who that has left WWE would you a)like to see back and b)think will be back

Who from another promotion that you're aware of would you like to see in WWE?

    Who's your favourite muppet?

Gimmick you hated at first but it really grew on you?

Best repackaging of a WWE Superstar? Outside the obvious ones like Austin and The Rock.

Well my surname is McMahon too believe it or not so I reckon I would be his spoiled nephew. Being a sleaze ball around the Divas and screwing some mid carder out of the IC Title. Eventually I'd have the tar beaten out of me and learn the errors of my ways.

Favourite move ever is the Awesome Bomb. Devastating as f*ck. I've seen Mike Awesome hit them through tables, over top ropes and everything but a plain old Awesome Bomb is unreal. Loved Mike Awesome actually.

Daniel Bryan's running knee is my favourite at the minute. What's it called, the Boma Ya or something?

You can invite 5 guests from the world of wrestling to dinner, name them?

Same question but with people from any walk of life?

    Wine or beer?

    Coke or water?

    Snickers or Marathon?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,956 ✭✭✭✭Omackeral

What debut/run has disappointed the most after hearing so much about them or seeing promos?

---I was disappointed when the nWo came back in 2002. When Hogan turned face, I would've loved to see HHH, Shawn and X-Pac in a Kliq version of the group. Instead we got Big Show and Booker T.

What WWE star do you think doesn't deserve the push they're getting and who do you think has a poor gimmick?

---Big Show. He needs to get out of the main event. He's well past his sell by date, his offense looks crap and the fans don't care about him. Plus he turns more often than the moon. As far as bad gimmicks? Jeepers, it's the lack of gimmicks if have a problem with more so. What's Tyson Kidd all about, same for Kofi?

Who would you push and how would you push them?

---Big Show. Off a cliff. With a JCB.

Who that has left WWE would you a)like to see back and b)think will be back

---John Morrison for both. And Batista too.

Who from another promotion that you're aware of would you like to see in WWE?

---For selfish reasons, Fergal Devitt. Saw him live once, outstanding talent.

    Who's your favourite muppet?

---I dunno but my favourite puppet is Brad Maddox. Love that awkward little guy!

Gimmick you hated at first but it really grew on you?

---Los Matadores. Just find them gas. That theme tune is a riot!!!

Best repackaging of a WWE Superstar? Outside the obvious ones like Austin and The Rock.

---Recently? Nic Nemeth probably. From golf caddy to cheerleader to the Show off Dolph Ziggler. I'd love to see him solidify a proper top spot.

If you were to be a fly on the wall for any of wrestlings big events? Which one would it be?

and the biggest question of all....

    Daddy or Chips?

    :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,956 ✭✭✭✭Omackeral

You can invite 5 guests from the world of wrestling to dinner, name them?

---- Great question. Ya'd have to have Ric Flair there. He'd be wearing the robe and shouting woo and doing the strut and all but under it all I think he's a gent. Joey Styles would be a cool edition, comes across as articulate and funny. Raven, now there's a guy who I could listen to for hours on end. He's been in every major promotion and is the smartest guy ever.
I wouldn't mind having JBL there too. He has a great grasp of world knowledge and European culture... Plus it would be great to see him and Joey at the same table. I'd round it off with Maryse, for purely Visual reasons. My word.

Same question but with people from any walk of life?
--- Do these people have to be alive? I guess walk of life suggests so! That's actually harder than the wrestling one. Maybe George W Bush to see if he's really that thick or if he's acting up, most powerful man in the world at one point after all. Jesse Ventura would be a great guest too, so if he couldn't come to my wrestlers dinner, him. Jessica Biel so I can stare at her and/or make love to her afterwards. Id also invite a homeless person, not just for the grub but to give them a forum to speak their minds for once to their peers. And Morgan Freeman... To narrate it all.

    Wine or beer?
The mankiest, most watery beer over the smoothest wine. Hate the stuff.

    Coke or water?
----Coke is awesome. Recently found a shop selling Vanilla Coke too. A great day was had.

    Snickers or Marathon?
---Too young to remember the latter. Double Deckers are where it's at though

Being a 123 fan, were you sad to see his career deteriorate???

Whos going to be the next big thing in WWE?

A fly on the wall. So many scenarios. Being anywhere near Brian Pillman would have been intense. That man was on another level to everyone else. Would've love to see the promoters faces when he was showing up as the Loose Cannon in ECW, WCW and WWF. What a man. Gone too soon

Ah chips beat Daddy. So versatile. Good with an array of foods including the humble chip sambo or simply on their own. Then ya have taco chips, garlic and cheese chips, chipper chips, home made chips, Micro chips, McCain's home fries, Maccy D's French fries. I'm frickin' starving now Garseys!

Was there ever a wrestler, who everyone else loved that you hated yourself?
---- Easy. Hogan. Can't stand the man and never liked his work really. Ultimate politicker from staying in the ring with Warrior to doing it again with Rock. Should've lost to HBK and I was delighted when Shawn made a mockery of him. Orton also should've beaten him. Man I hate Hogan. Disingenuous so and so!!!

Being a 123 fan, were you sad to see his career deteriorate???
I never got to see him as Syxx in WCW. But I understand he had to modify his style by then. His return to the DX army was cool but he was just pathetic when the old X-Pac heat became a thing. He never really changed with the game or something.

Whos going to be the next big thing in WWE?
Could it be Cesaro? Reigns maybe? I think Seth Rollins is unbelievably underrated, even within the Shield. Amazing seller, one of the best in fact. Cool offense. Good luck. Just feel his voice is a little weak though.

What's the most embarassing album/single you own(ed) and would you admit to it outside of here?

    1. Which wrestlers have you met in person and any interesting stories to tell?
----Outside of signings,I've met Seth Rollins and Kid Kash. Kid Kash called AJ Styles a 'ballet dancing little pussy'

    2. Three favourite bands of all time?
---- Not big on bands. Been to three concerts in my life. (Here goes my boards cred in 3,2,1....) Westlife, Macklemore and Shayne Ward.

    3. Which countries have you been to?
All of the UK, USA, Turkey, Spain, Portugal, Poland and Germany (Euro 2012 Campervan trip), Cyprus and Crete. Going to Amsterdam in January.

    4. Which country has the sexiest women?
I like Irish girls but was with a gorgeous Cuban once. Scottish chicks are awesome too.

    5. How many wrestling shows have you been to, and list as many as you can remember.
WWF House Show in 1995: saw Bret, Taker and Michaels.
IWW in the National Basketball Arena: Jody Fleisch vs Jonny Storm
TNA House Show in 2011 and 2013 : Kurt and Joe live!
Charity Show in Bray : Fergal Devitt heel turn in his hometown!
WWE Live twice this year also. Great fun.

    6. nWo or DX?
DX. Never saw nWo at the time. The Kliq full stop were cool though.

    7. Favourite xmas song?
All I Want For Christmas is You. Always pull a chick when it's on!

    8. Favourite place to go in Dublin?
    1. Tallaght Stadium to see Bohs beat Shamrock Rovers.
    2. The Woolshed- For PPV or otherwise
    3. Eddie Rockets Shake Shop- they turn any bar into a milkshake.
    4. The Viewpoint and Johnny Foxes pub in the Dublin Mountains.

    9. Home and Away or Neighbours?
    Neither to be honest.

    10. Any piercings and/or tattoos? Or future plans here?
Both ears. Formally had my eyebrow done too. No ink, although I think it looks awesome on some people

    11. Do you lift weights or do any sports?
Do I even lift?!?! Not really. I play soccer, goal keeper. Played Gaelic football for my school too and won the Dublin Championship :)

    12. Ever had wrestling training?
No but hang out with two guys who do. One is on a roster now actually. I was told I have a good look though!

    13. Favourite actor?
Toss up between DiCaprio and Denzel. Leo deserves an oscar. Denzel can do heel, face or tweener perfectly. Like Mark Wahlberg too.

    14. Favourite actress?
they're all adult. Couldn't say in a PG environment.

    15. Hottest Diva/Knockout ever?
Oh god. Sunny and Sable were awesome. Soft spot (really not soft though) for Maryse too. Oozes sexuality. Also love Brooke Tessmacher and Rosa Mendes.

    16. What soccer team do you support?
Bohemians. I don't believe in following English teams and getting worked up over their rivalries. Ya can't beat being at the game and creating a buzz.

    17. Best day/weekend of your life?
All I can say is that myself and the boys ended up in our boxer shorts on top of a Kilkenny Hotel rooftop taunting security guards while waving a gay pride flag while a few girls we took home stormed home fuming.

    18. Favourite ever sitcom/comedy?
Loved the Office. So cringeworthy. Moviewise, Dumb and Dumber, so quote able.

    19. You can invite one wrestling personality for dinner, who do you choose and why?

Raven. I would love to here some of his ideas. I'd say he's an absolute genius.

    20. Top 3 entrance themes?

    Goldberg- intense
    Mr Perfect - epic
    Bret Hart - cool

    21. If you were a pro wrestler, and you have a few hours spare one evening, would you be most likely spotted doing a) visiting sick kids in hospital, b) out looking for women, c) hit the gym for weights and training, or d) spending quality time at home all day with friends and family.

it would have to be option d) Friends and colleagues come and go but family is forever.

    22. Favourite Tarantino movie?
It has to be Pulp Fiction. It's in every vessel of pop culture. Love Inglorious Basterds too.

    23. Austin or Goldberg?
two very different dudes. Each were great at what they did. Austin is the Everyman and he made it all cool again. So him . Goldberg was savage too.

    24. Cats or dogs?
dogs. Loyal to the core. Cats are sly. Don't get the Internet fascination with them either.

    25. Favourite city in the world?
Orlando, Florida. It's like being a kid again being there. Just amazing. The people, the facilities, everything. The theme parks are the best place on earth.

I do however bust a good move. This is the routine.

John Cena's you can't see me followed by a an Eddie Guerrero Latino heat shoulder shuffle. Then a Scotty 2 Hotty worm followed by a HBK nip up. Then the bouncers big ape like hands on the scruff of my neck cos it's the 4th time I've done it and he's sick of telling me not to.

As I've said, my surname is McMahon and I'm a big wrestling fan so have always gone by name like Shane-O-Mac does. It got shortened to Omac over the years. Then one day we were out fishing and the boys called me Omackerel.

I've actually misspelled it on my username. It haunts me.

Now here's a shocker. I never had Christmas as a child as we were not brought up Catholic. So I always new Santa was a con man. So when I was 6 or 7 and the kids were in about the fat man, I'd be rolling my eyes and thinking ''REALLY, REALLY?!'' like Miz. I never said it to any of them though cos I was a pure babyface at that stage of my career.

Ok I'm not sure if you want me to take this literally but in order of preference.

Marry Cactus, he was my favourite and one I'd go the distance with.

Snog Mankind, he was funny at times and crazy at others. Little cheeky fling would be cool.

Avoid Dude Love, didn't care for this character at all. Not getting anything off me.

Sean O'Haire's Devils Advocate character. He was like an anti-CM Punk. He was encouraging people to have a little drink now and then, have an affair if ur partners being bad to you, skimp on taxes cos someone else is defrauding benefits anyway and to generally take moral short cuts. Then he'd finish with this gem "hey... I'm not telling you anything don't already know"

Had a great look and was savage In The ring, should've worked out for him.

Mania definitely. Me and the boys have a pact to go to it the next time it's in Canada. No excuses

Gravity. Very good visually. Clooney is insufferable in it though.

I love movies, forever at the cinema. Best film I've seen this year though was a DVD recommendation from a mate- True Romance. It's a 1992 flick and listen to the cast:

Christopher Walken, Dennis Hopper, Christian Slater, Gary Oldman, Patricia Arquette, Samuel L Jackson. Awesome movie.

Recently got string out on Breaking Bad and the Walking Dead too. Savage series the pair of them.

    Whats your favourite Simpsons Episode?
I'd say the Shelbyville episode. Amazing to see outside of the town in such detail. And it had the scene at the start with Professor Frink on the flying motorcycle... "You had your chance, ga-himun!!!"

Who was your fav wrestler to retire or pass away too early?
Mike Awesome. I feel he was hindered by politics and stupid gimmicks in the big 2. He was an epic big man. Could fly like a cruiser too.

Whos your favourite wrestler never to make it to WWE?
I know they were there for a fleeting moment but The Public Enemy could've been cool I think.

    Favourite Wrestlemania moment?
I actually dunno if I could pick just one. Maybe Benoit and Eddie in the ring together, as tragic as it is in hindsight.

Hi, and thanks for doing this. I'll keep them simple.

Favourite match of all time and why?
Some amazing ones to pick from. Dynamite Kid vs Tiger Mask from 1983 still stands up today. Bulldog vs Bret at Wembley cos it got me addicted. Anything with Benoit. But the most jaw dropping was a Dragon gate 6man at ROH Supercard of Honor II. Unreal.

Most under and over rated matches of all time and why?
Most over rated match ever is Cena vs Michaels in London. Snorefest

    Favourite PPV? Worst PPV?
Favourite PPV is probably ECW Heatwave 1998. Not one dud on the card. A wild street fight to end the show, cool mat based opener and a crazy spot with Bam Bam Bigelow going through the ramp. The RVD/Sabu vs Hayabusa/Hakushi tag match was a treat and a half. Honourable mention to Summerslam 2002. Kurt v Rey to open, Brock v Rock to close. Worst PPV? prob a latter day WCW effort

Why did you start watching wrestling?
In and around Summerslam 92, Bulldog v Bret got me hooked. Although I kinda remember Shawn putting Janetty through the Barbershop window.

    Favourite wrestling game?
WWF Warzone. Had all the finishers written down and would dole them out to the boys in school.

What keeps you watching when the product declines in quality?
It's just ingrained in me by now. If u can survive Mantaur and Duke the Dumpster Droese in 1995, you can get through anything.

What changes would you make to improve WWE today?
Obviously get a little more risky from time to time, especially on PPV. A little blood wouldn't hurt. Specially in the Cell or at TLC.

Do you agree that fans look back at the Attitude Era with rose tinted glasses and overlook some of the comically bad moments that era produced, because the good moments were so memorable?
I just think the whole world was gripped back then so it was just a part of life. The gick is largely forgotten or suppressed.

    Dream car?
Dave Batista's sweet Mercedes SLK when he first won the strap.

    Favourite meal?
Doner Kebab. There's an authentic Turkish spot near me that does an amazing one. Man I love it.

Thanks for taking the time to do this, always enjoyable.
My pleasure. Love this forum. It's like a brotherhood.

If you woke up tomorrow morning as a giant doughnut would you be able to resist the temptation to eat yourself?

I'd like to add to MFs question and ask what doughnut would you be? Jammy, custard, chocolate, iced, ringed or one of those topaz flavoured ones?

Favourite Christmas movies in no particular order are Home Alone (Childhood classic), Elf (magically innocent yet funny) and Bad Santa ( very very dark humour).
Have any of you ever seen the movie Santa's Slay with Bill Goldberg as an Evil St Nick? So weird!

Favourite stadium to go to is Bray Wanderers away, it's a great fixture on a summer night with a few beers down by the beach and its on the Dart.
Love all the away games though, always get the hardcore fans going.

I'd be a ring doughnut because at least then I'd get my hole.

No but I've broken my sisters wrist on a see saw, my mates arm in an accident and split my brothers head open wrestling in my parents room. First blood rules

I like Bray too. Went there one July for a pre-season friendly against Villareall and got a photo taken with Marcos Senna.

As a follow up question, do you think the LOI were right to move the fixture calendar to the Summer instead of traditionally in-line with the rest of Europe?

And what would be your favourite non-Irish stadium?

World Cup winner Marco Senna, impressive. Always liked him. A Brazilian Spaniard, always gonna be a good mixture.

As far as summer soccer goes, I think it's had given us all an edge in Europe but I neve minded being on the terraces in the cold weather with a hot chocolate.

Favourite non Irish stadium. Derry City's Brandywell (ha just kidding). I actually like the GSP stadium in Cyprus, it's got a massive non water moat running the perimeter of it, odd but cool. Celtic park is awesome for noise, hard pressed for a better atmosphere

    Whats your favorite gimmick match?

What you getting the other half for christmas?

Now that theres 8 left, who is your pick to win ATH?

If you were a superstar what entrance music would you like to enter to?

    Whats your current hair style?

What are you looking forward to most in the new year?

Who has worn the best ring attire ever in your opinion?

What advice would you give to a younger Omackeral ?

Used to love Battle Royals when I was smaller. Had the Royal Albert Hall one on VHS for years and would watch it every other weekend. Also loved the WrestleMania 14 Dumpster match pitting The Outlaws against Cactus Jack and
    Chainsaw Charlie

What you getting the other half for christmas?
Im taking her to Amsterdam for a long weekend. Getting her driving lessons also. I'm sound like that.

Now that theres 8 left, who is your pick to win ATH?
I couldn't answer at this stage, ask me again after the quarters!

If you were a superstar what entrance music would you like to enter to?
    Mmmmmbop by Hanson.

    Whats your current hair style?
Its a wee bit of a Mohawk on top with a Mike Tyson style line cut in. (Oddest question yet, including the doughnut one!)

What are you looking forward to most in the new year?
    Getting my own house finally

Who has worn the best ring attire ever in your opinion?
Has to be the L.O.D. Those spikes are iconic.

What advice would you give to a younger Omackeral?
Probably to go and get braces when I was 14. I was on a waiting list for 5 years and skipped the appointment to stay in and watch Smackdown. I ended up getting them on at age 25 at the cost of €3000

I'm intrigued about why you don't celebrate Christmas, but obviously don't want this to get too personal :D

    Right a few more then,

    Favourite Irish band/musician?

Prediction to win the World Cup next year?

    Prediction for Wrestlemania main event?

Blur or Oasis? (Got that from last night's Father Ted)

    Favourite wrestling book?
