My aluminium patio door is only about 40mm thick. There is currently a 70mm cylinder on it, and it protrudes a lot. I'm thinking of replacing it with a 60mm anti snap cylinder.

Is this the best I can do with this type of lock setup? It will still protrude 10mm but seems to be the shortest cylinder available.

You can get 40mm and 50mm on many online shops, i bought one before on ebay, just make sure of your measurement from one end to where the screw goes through your cylinder to the new one you are getting.

The one i bought before was a double, i had to buy it from UK, paid a bit on shipping but lock was cheap so it balanced out versus the price from my local DIY store at the time.

MILA in Kilbarrack do a 30mm/30mm high security lock which would suit. €30, but out of stock at the mo. They have the 35/35 in stock but you will still have the protrusion either side. You could order it with them, but unlikely you would see it this side of the hols.

If by any chance you have a record of the supplier please let me know, shortest double I can find online is 30/30. I need a thumbturn model as well.
