5 year old niece of mine, what's popular for that age group right now?
    Some recommendations would be appreciated.

I also have a five year old niece, she's also my God daughter so I've spent quite a bit on her. A few of the gifts I've gotten her so far:

One Direction Body Art set (€12.99 in smyths) - She loves 1D, so does her friends, so I'm guessing your niece will too. They are suitable for sensitive skin, they are fake little 1D tattoos that wash off with a bit of scrubbing.

Mizz Magic Tricks and Illusions (€20) - A magic trick set for girls. I wouldn't have thought of it but she saw it on the telly and apparently "everyone is getting one".

Lush Bath Bombs : About €3 each, I've bought her a couple of them. They are 100% paraben free. They make funky designs in bath water, my niece goes crazy for them. Her favourite one turns the water pink with the print of gold stars, her other favourite turns the water white (like snow) and has blue snow angels. Definitely a good shot she'd like these.

Disney's Sofia the 1st Styling Head (€20) : Basically a massive doll head the child can brush/style/whatever. Dunno if your niece is into Sofia the 1st, but she's a Disney Junior star :pac:

A lamb onesie : about €6 in Penneys. She loves the idea of dressing up like a baby so I got her a lamb onesie in Penneys. You'd have to know her size, though.

There's a 2 for €20 on a lot of toys in Smyths atm, so maybe you could pick her up something there. They do free delivery if you spend more than €49, too.

    Hope that helps :)

I have a niece who has just turned six. She has a bear from Build-A-Bear so I'm going to get her some accessories for it.

She generally loves teddys anyway, as do many young girls.

She has been talking about a toy called Trixie - a skateboarding puppy, could be worth checking out.

My niece has never heard of 1D so I wont be getting her anything related to them!

Dress up bits and pieces - you can get lots in TKMaxx, H&M usually have tutus for just a few quid, they often have lots of small dress up things, hair bands, fairy wings, jewellery etc..
