Sky No Sat Signal

Hi, I have the dreaded no sat signal on my sky+ HD box. I have checked connections etc and tried the usual power down but no joy. I don't have a phone line connected and never have. Is it likely to be a software upgrade requirement? Will I need to connect to broadband to determine?
    Advice would be much appreciated.

no broadband makes no difference. you need to check dish has not moved, have you a spare box to check? no sat signal usually means that.

My guess would be the wind has knocked your dish out of line!

Ok, thanks for the replies. I'll check dish alignment this evening. There is nothing to block the signal in terms of trees or anything. I don't have a second box to check. I checked the signal settings on the box and its not that there is poor signal, there is zero.
