What the f*ck is wrong with these people. Here, you lot, we are not happy that the majority of us want to stay part of the UK, even though we now have Gerry and Martin in political office - So, have a car bomb in our capital. Merry f8cking Christmas.

    Sick f*cks.

    So edgy.

Does this need a new thread?

Do you even pay taxes in Ireland?

Seriously - here are two lads in their middle 40s. At point do you think this psycho fucks are going to turn around and say "ah, well, I guess it's better we don't blow each other up in some sadistic misguided attempt to get what we want".

Why is your sniping more relevant than my disgust at these people?

What's wrong with the original thread on this story? Do we need a new thread every time there is a development in this story?

I wasn't aware of the original thread. Contrary to popular belief I don't read every thread on boards.

The phrase "Contrary to popular belief" signifies things, which, contrary to popular belief, are not contrary to popular belief. Also contrary to popular belief, it does not signify things that actually are contrary to popular belief.

They could of course go out into the middle of the North Channel in a rowboat, stick their bombs up each others' bums and blow each other up in a Suitable Futile Gesture for Ireland.

    Don't you wish they would.

Did Gerry Adams actually issue a statement on this instead of talking about cops bringing things on themselves?

At the age of 45 odd. I could understand some idealistic young twats doing this, but at mid 40s? Really? Time to reassess what you are doing with your life I think.

Time both communities stopped protecting utter muppets like this. I guess the name "Victoria" shopping centre makes it a "legitimate target" or something.

Is it just me or is there more and more reports of attempted bombings? There is nearly one every few days.

Nope not you. Seems the f*ckwits are gathering momentum, if not (thank god) expertise.
Statistics show that October featured 16 attempted bombings, the worst level in three years, including four letter bombs addressed to top policemen and Britain’s minister responsible for the province. All were spotted by Royal Mail screening technology or office secretaries.

60kg car bomb in the middle of Belfast would have been big news. Did you miss the 60kg of explosives bit? That's a quarter of the size of the massive Omagh bombing.

    Why the shrugging?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,534 ✭✭✭SV

    Scumbags, absolutely disgusting.
what a way to make your point, attempting to kill innocent people.

Because there is already a thread yet you start a new one, this stuff has been going on for 100s of years in this country and shows no sign of stopping.

I just mean its always something up north whether the flags, marching, tribunals etc.

Maybe I'm sick of seen these threads on after hours.

Because there is already a thread yet you start a new one,

Apologies for starting a thread on a topic that ran for a whole six hours on AH with 35 replies previously. Can't think how I missed it. A worst crime than an attempted bombing in your eyes however.
this stuff has been going on for 100s of years in this country and shows no sign of stopping.
Did you miss the Peace Process or something?
I just mean its always something up north whether the flags, marching, tribunals etc.
    Ah those explosive tribunals...
Maybe I'm sick of seen these threads on after hours.
Perhaps you shouldn't comment in them then?

The more people shrug at this, the more they feel empowered to do this shit. They should be run out of Belfast on a rail when they get out of jail. But they won't. And the sick thing is they will be admired for this attempt.

    No no I didn't.

A terrorist act is just that, doesn't really matter how it is carried out.

This will always happen in ireland untill the country is united. Sad but true! These irish men up north will just not settle for it. Look at irish history, and IMO, there will be another war up there, weither thats in 10 years, 20 or even 50, i dont know but it will happen unless prople vote for it up north to be part of the 26 counties.

So blowing up your own citizens of both sides gives you the right to override the democratic process. Got it.

Listen, the political scene will change massively when adams and mc guiness die. Britain will go back to the dirty old tricks, sure their even doing it now ffs with interning innocent men, lifting republicans and putting them away on remand on bullsh1t charges. Theres talk of the UDA/UVf ceasefires breaking and when the old timers die out, there will be new blood on the streets and loyalists will be back to killing innocent catholics and slowey but surely, it will be fcuked again in the north. You might not see it now, but mark my words. Do you honestly think that every irish man will sit back and let the north be part of the UK, no chance!!

    You're absolutely correct.

For every man that dies another will take his place. This will continue for another 100 years or ultimately until we regain control of what is rightfully ours.

Well I for one would like to thank Madsl for bring this to peoples attention on after hours. Lets hope that the misguided fellas (if guilty) will be banged up for Christmas and for the foreseeable future. Planting bombs (designed to maime & kill) in public places is/was never a good idea.

And just in the run up to Christmas, charming lot, not

Well suck it up, because the people of Ireland voted for democracy and not for washed up cowards forcing innocent people to plant their bombs. We voted for change through the ballot box, so you'll just have to be unhappy until such time come as the people in the north and in the south use their respective ballot boxes to change.

I think you might need to do some research into the % of civilians killed by the IRA by comparison to targets.

People on here have their head in the clouds a lot of the time and blatantly ignore facts.

Do I condone the killing of innocents? No, but with any armed struggle civilian casualties are to be expected.

What's stopping you enrolling in the PSNI? Surely they could do with more people like yourself?

What a sad and bitter little mindset you have :(

Have you thought about the consequences for the people of Belfast 'if' the bombers had been successful with their Christmas Bomb? with body parts being scraped off the pavements the next day like the Belfast of the 70s, I mean would that help free Ireland? from . . . . . . . . .

    You've completely lost me...

His mindset is sad and bitter because he isn't happy that our island is to this day occupied? Fail to see the logic there.

Did the British Army think about the consequences when they dragged pregnant Irish women and their families from their homes in the middle of the night?

Put away the moral compass, please.

I must admit, whatever sort of campaign they are trying to wage, they are going about it all wrong and doing themselves no favours.

Using civilians to carry bombs etc is just wrong and goes against the whole legitimate target issue.

The GFA was democratically agreed by both sides, and numerous polls show that majority in both Northern Ireland and Republic are satisfied with how things are at the moment - but don't let that get in your way of your "armed struggle" - you don't have Irish peoples support
