    Hi all,

I found part-time work about a year ago and have been claiming Part-Time Allowance since. Over the Xmas period, my hours will increase a bit (4/5 days rather than 2/3 days) until the start of January, then the business unfortuntely is closing, and we're all losing our jobs :( I just turned 25 and wondering what rate I would be entitled to - the €188 or €144. Will I be a 'new' applicant to JSA or an existing one seeing as I have been getting PTA?

I'm aware Budget changes aren't coming into effect until 15th January, but we haven't got a definite date regarding the last day of business, so it could even be after the Budget changes.

If anyone could shed some light, that would be great. Also any word on upcoming retail work in Dublin, that would be fierce sound :P

I presume you are now in receipt of €188 rate. Your current claim will be continuing therefore you will get €188 pw if you currently have a personal rate of €188.
