I hate loud eaters and people who slurp their tea. It wrecks my head, and if some one i knew was doing it while i was having dinner or tea with them i would tell them to shut up.

I worked with chinese people for a number of years, and they used to be loud eaters. I asked them about it, and they said they eat like that so they can taste their food.

My boyfriends jaw clicks when he eats, drives me insane. If he's eating a roll or something he always takes 3 bites at a time and all I hear is click click click. :mad:

Absolutely hate it.. Thought my brother was mad for hating it so much but I'm the same now. I eat very quietly for the sole reason that when I do tell someone off, they can't say I do it as well.

Thankfully, I'm normally having a couple of beers somewhere when I eat with friends and it's fine. The girlfriend eats normally, which still means a bit of tv or music when we're at home.

Thanks for this, I never heard of this condition before now.
I've been bothered by sounds like these (especially lip smacking - crunching of crisps or rustling of packets don't really upset me) all my life, and I wear headphones most of the time in public so music drowns out the sounds I don't want to hear.

It's good to know that there's a classification for it and that I'm not just an easily-annoyed bitch!

I'm a very noisy eater. I get all slurpy and make nomming sounds. Grunts and moans and the like. She goes mad for it though so I won't be changing anytime soon.

Amen to that.

I don't go to the cinema to see films I like sometimes as I know I'll just wind up getting irritated. It's a curse, but we all have our burdens to bear I suppose
