Building a gaming pc

    Hi guys & gals,

Any suggestions on specs for a decent gaming pc for a budget of around €450 - €500?

I've only built 2 pc's so far but would like to build a decent one for gaming. I got parts last time on Misco.ie and Amazon.co.uk and seen some pretty good deals for cpu's ect.

    So far I'm at:

CPU: AMD FX-4130 4 Core Processor
Motherboard: Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Socket AM3 Motherboard
Case with PUS: CiT Vantage Black Gaming PC Case with 700W PSU
    Ram: 8Gb

I don't know a lot about GPUs or graphics cards, would I get something good and compatible with the above components or am I heading in the wrong direction altogether??

Any comments would be much appreciated!!! :)

Do not get a case with a built in power supply and get a FX6300 at least for the power. You need a good rated power supply

On this; if getting a case with a PSU, ensure you are told what PSU it is, and do research on it. Cheap no-name PSU's will f**k up your system if you put a high load on it, and if it's a gaming machine, it's a given that you'll be putting a high load on it.

Expect to be spending the same as case + good PSU when getting a PSU with the case. Example would be a Coolermaster PSU with a Coolermaster case. The PSU in this case, howerver, is loud, and non-modular.

    =-=

NOTE; pay the extra 10 or 20 euro, and try to get the modular version of the PSU that you plan on buying. If you click here you'll see the difference; the non-modular (on the right) has all the cables attached, but you only need to connect the cables that you need to the the modular PSU (on the left). This helps cable management in your case a lot :)

Nolars, link the person to the template, as many won't know where to look, or what "the template" is.

skits08; Please goto here, and copy the post into a reply to this thread, and fill out the bits and pieces. This helps people to help you.

Finally, have a look at HWV, as even with the flat €30 delivery charge, it still works out to competitive pricing.
