Okay, need new wheels, looking at the new campagnolo Khasmins for 2014 and I see they only have 20 spokes on the back. Is it likely these wheels will be unreliable due to the low spoke count? Or will they be as rliable as the previous khasmins. (24spoke)?

I was in the exact same position last week when my winter rear wheel packed up for good. I made a lot of enquiries as to what to buy from cyclists/shops/mechanics and the campag/fulcrum wheels came up as number one for budget winter wheels. Iirc they are more or less the same company. The khasmins were highly recommended and they seemingly have great bearings and are well able for hardship. I decided to go a couple of steps up the ladder and bought scirocco h35 wheels for no other reason other than I liked the look of them better. I've never had campag anything but did have a set of fulcrum 3s and put 7-8k miles on them and never even got them tried. Replaced bearings alright but they weren't gone, just outta habit I guess. High praise from everyone I asked anyway. Best of luck with em!

Have what are probably 2012 models on my bike. No issues and have them nearly 2 years. I'm not small either - 90kg+

Will have to check - sure mine are 8 groups of 3 spokes = 24

YEah they will be, but I see they've changed and have a model with 20 on the back this coming year and was just wondering if they will be as bombproof?

Why not get Khamsin G3s and then you'll still have 24 spokes?

What's wrong with getting the tried and trusted khamsins.

    The LBS not stocking them.

Out of interest if I true this wheel, there are two now redundant spokes on the driveside, 2/16 equals 12.5% stress increase on the spokes remaining on the driveside. Would this be correct?

    No idea about wheel truing.

Drop Brian in swim cycle run in Athy a line and see if you can get the wheels in the link.
I swapped my Khamsins for them and there is very little difference except fp the bearings and run just as smooth.
