Panic attacks when power goes out

I don't know why, I think it's something to do with having no distractions and no control over it but I always panic when the power goes out. So I don't know how I'm going to cope with the ESB strike :( Does anyone have any idea will this happen at night time or will it go on for days at a time? I'm really anxious about it…
