    Hi guys,

I recently did the driving test in my car in September and I failed with 10 marks, I felt confident that I would pass at the time but I mostly lost marks mostly for progress and observation.
Twice drivers beckoned at me to go at junctions when they had right of way, I know now I should have gone when safe so I lost major marks for that.

I now have my retest next Tuesday and I am far more nervous this time, failing has made me lose my confidence going into this test.
Has anyone any advice for doing the test second time round?
Or tips to handle the nerves? Thanks guys.

Failing doesn't have to be a negative thing, you're making progress to passing it . I'd say don't lose confidence in yourself, because its when you start doubting yourself is when you start messing up.

Stay positive though, sounds like you got a bit of bad luck during the test, its so annoying when people do that ,I used to hate it during lessons

Let's look at it another way, you were 2 marks over the pass. You realise what you done wrong ,not proceeding. Soiunds like you are better equipped to deal with it this time, head up, good luck, think about the positives.

Get 2 hour lessons for 2 or 3 days before the test. I did that before my test, I had two 2-hour lessons and a mock test. I just barely passed the mock test cos my instructor was marking it hard. Passed my real test with flying colours.

It may be expensive to cram in all those lessons but definitely worth it imo.

    This.

OP, you've experienced the test now. You know what to expect and what to work on. Take as many lessons as you feel you need to prior to your test to help with your confidence. I'd always recommend a lesson immediately before the test.

    Best of luck

One tip I picked up recently was to view yourself as the tester's chauffeur, so put yourself firmly in control and stay calm.

You were very close to passing. Get an ADI to help take a few marks away for a comfortable pass.

    Hi idayang,
I'm the op here and I know that very nervous feeling! I felt far worse the second time.
From your marks it seems you are getting better and better and as difficult as it sounds its best to try keep a positive mind.
I lost marks for observation first time and I made a mess of the reverse so for the second time I said to myself to never stop looking in the mirror, to indicate anytime I had to go even closer to the white line and I took my time doing the reverse, pausing when I could to observe. I went from 10 Grade 2, to 2 Grade 2.
You probably were getting marks in the same sections so it really is important to try and perfect them as best you can. Get a few lessons to before the exam if you can, i found that it really helped!!
Best of luck, I really hope this is your time! :)
