Tax Refund Dates?

    Hi Folks,

    My wife is due a refund from Revenue after submitting her Tax returns and she was just wondering when this normally comes through?

    Depending on how the return was submitted, paper based or ROS, it can take several weeks for the return to be processed. There isn't a specific date for refunds. If a refund is due, it usually issues to your bank account within 3 working days of the return being processed. If the refund is by cheque it's usually 5 to 10 working days. This assumes that all is in order and that the return hasn't been selected for a verification check. If it has then that can add a few weeks to the process.

    I filed on ROS on 14th, received cheque back on 28th - actually got cheque the day before assessment notification arrived !!

    Thanks folks. The accountant filed it by the November deadline using ROS. She's hoping for the refund before Christmas for pressie :)
