Hi folks, Can anyone recommend a good quality MP3 player ?

The only requirement is that it is minimum 64GB, good sound quality and isn't manufactured by Apple. No budget as such I just love my music so will spend 300+ For something of good quality... Thanks in advance...

clip zip (4gb and 8gb) and buy a 64gb micro sd card.

clip zip renowned for sound quality. only downside for me is no bluetooth. and maybe no touchscreen if you need it. and yes, 12 hr battery life is not amazing. rockbox it for all possible (almost) sound formats. even stock without putting rockbox on it, it will play most formats, mp3, flac etc.

    clip zip

    64gb card

so for £71 or so you have 68gb of good sound.

    The Clip is good value.

I would recommend the Fiio X3, its the best sounding player ive ever heard and you can but one in Dublin from HiFiHut (thats where i got mine) for same price as amazon.

I 2nd the FiiO X3 recommendation, bought mine also from HifiHut a few weeks ago and absolutely love it... I've been a Cowon fan for years but that has changed with the X3! No frills on this player like apps, games or even a clock - just an amazing music player which is exactly what I wanted.

+1 for X3. Simple GUI, great sound quality, loads of power, USB DAC, line out, digital out - what else would you need?

I've just tested this with the latest 3.0 firmware on our demo X3 and it seems to be working fine.

The new firmware has some sound quality improvements as well, so well worth upgrading.

It doesn't, but bang for your buck it's hard to look past it in sound quality terms.

I've gone through two ipod nanos, never again. Would you guys know of something a bit smaller than the x3?

I'm looking for something to use for jogging

    Thanks

sansa clip zip is an excellent option for jogging. great sound quality. buy a micro sd card to extend capacity.

So I put the new firmware on the player and it has solved the positional playback issue. sound quality is good.

Still bugs to be fixed ive noticed though...when I turn the mp3 player on and immediately switch the hold button before the music comes on, after about 4 or 5 seconds the player crashes. if I wait for the music to begin before putting to hold it plays ok. Nothing major though.
