    Yes its five past two!

The first of a run of three games in 7 days, all of which we thought should be bankers or near as dammit, however the injury to Sturridge has set off alarm bells if only because of everything being down to Suarez now and for how long we don't know. Which means winning this trio of matches is even more important. :(

The home side are nothing if not tight - more than a single goal has been scored at the KC just once so far and that was a draw, the following are out apparently P. McShane, S. Quinn S. Aluko. For Liverpool there has been a rumour that Coutinho and Hendo are carrying knocks.

Could be a trickier game than some might think...

I'm going to predict a disappointing 1-1 draw

Not a good sign when the matches are thick and fast on my phone calendar but the squad looks to be thinning with injuries.

as I said yesterday we need someone in the background to now step forward and show their worth.

Yep. Have to agree with this. I'm not looking forward to it tbh.

If all the reported injuries come to pass I'd like to see

    Mignolet

    Johnson, Toure, Sakho, Flanagan

    Lucas, Allen, Gerrard

    Sterling, Suarez, Moses

Hard to see both Agger/Skrtel being rested but I agree about the rest, I think width could be the key.

    Confirmed starting 11

Mignolet, Johnson, Toure, Skrtel, Flanagan, Lucas, Gerrard, Henderson, Sterling, Moses, Suarez.

Subs: Jones, Agger, Alberto, Aspas, Coutinho, Sakho, Allen.

    Good bench! :)

Wouldn't have predicted that CB partnership. Would've thought Sahko would have been a good choice for a game like this.

    No Coutinho, no Sturridge...

We need Suarez to have a magic game

    Yay Moses...

This match will only be made better if the poster who does the bad USA Soccer Guy impression posts.

    Is Coutinho injured?

    Moses and Sterling :(

A lot of pace and direct running in that front 3. Won't be clever or inventive. Couldd be incredibly frustrating to watch, or could be real swashbuckling excitement.

I fear the former tbh :(

    Hope I'm very, very wrong!

    I agree :(.

I don't think we will see Sakho as a regular until next season. But why the Fcuk pay that money for him and not play him :(

Why is Agger back on the bench? Skrtel and Toure are very similar. Always feel we play better when Agger is there.

We conceded 3 last week so had be shaking up, aggers days are probably numbered here anyways id say well cash in on him.

Agger was rubbish last week, I have to wonder do the people that come on here looking to moan actually watch games.

Really hate ****ty posts like that.

Anyways, we should still have enough here to beat Hull but they are a tough side at home.

Sakho has done nothing to warrant a guaranteed starting place yet. Rodgers doesn't know his best pairing yet

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

Skrtel and Agger were so bad last week, neither deserve to be on the pitch today, when you consider Sakho and Toure have done nothing wrong, and have actually been impressive in their game time, IMO.

Coming up to the most important part and busiest part of the season you would hope by now if all players were fully fit he would know is best pairing. He has had four months working with them now.

different cb pairings work better against different teams, hardly a criticism of the manager, think these two have been our best pairing this season btw.

Toure and Skrtel in my eyes have been our best centre half pairing.
Sakho has done nothing wrong mind you, but its a good problem to have.

    2 nil today.

In fairness to Rodgers no centre has Ben absolutely outstanding .. All have made a few errors and looked shaky at times.
Would have liked to see sakho start today though

His potential. Liverpool won't attract a top level centre half, but can attract someone with the potential to be. Kolo can fill the gap in the meantime

Skrtel has been the most consistent CB this season . None of the other 3 have stood out thus far

    And off we go

Don't understand why Rodger's is getting criticised for using his squad here. It is Hull after all and they should be good enough.
Ideal game for Sterling and Moses. Bench strong enough for changes if required.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,535 ✭✭✭joe123

Nervous now! Need 3 points here what with our tough fixtures during Christmas.

Didn't think Sturridge was gonna be out that long. :(

I reckon they'll do enough to get us over the line here.

    0 - 1 will do me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,018 ✭✭✭✭klose

Would have liked to see a full back on the bench if flanno has a bad game, instead we've two left footed centre halves.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,560 ✭✭✭✭Kess73

Corner count starting to rack up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

Wisdom on loan, and at this stage I wouldn't be surprised if sitting down for long periods on a bench aggravates an injury of some sorts in Martin Kelly, so not a lot of options otherwise.

Sterling gets pushed off the ball far too easily.

Mention of Skrtel losing his place to Carragher last season....check.

Moses and Sterling looking very static and flat in their play so far. Suarez looking isolated and having to come very deep as a result.

Edit: Just as I type, Sterling with a nice burst of pace :)

Hendo has zero composure on ball

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,775 ✭✭✭✭Gbear

We're really not up to much so far.

Looks like we have too few players with quality on the ball.

I suppose if we're not losing on 60 Coutinho can come on sort us out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,434 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

Lackadaisical start. No drive or urgency.
