I was looking on vodafone.ie online store searching for the iPhone 5s and noticed it wasn't available to buy it on pay as you go, so my question is, is or will the iPhone 5s ever be available on pay as you go on vodafone offline or online?

You could buy it from Apple and put your own sim into it. ;)

You can buy the phone unlocked from the apple website and use it on whatever network you want.

Edit: Passenger just beat me to it.

Is there anything bad about unlocked phones or is it the same as any other phone?

It's even better because you're not tied to any one network, you can use any sim you want.
