Hi i'am just gonna start with who i was and who i am now, i come from a pretty rough background mother on welfare father an alcoholic type of thing i grew up being picked on i made friends with the wrong people i was kicked out of school in second year but sat the exam in 3rd (failed) then wen't on to hanging out on the streets stealing drinking doing drug's then my father cheated on my mother she kicked him out i was up to no good she sen't me to live with him on the south inner city that just made it worse made friends with the wrong people over there same thing but then i got a good smack in the face by the law i was looking at big time in prison when i hit 20 but was not charged and since then i stopped going out to these people and 3 of them have died since then one crashed a stolen car into a tree one OD and the other was murdered, so for the past 3 years i have straightened my life out by not going outside at all and sitting in my room playing video game's i have put on some serious weight i'am suffering from depression and have no education or work experience to put on paper for a CV i can't imagine any company that would hire an over weight un educated person with no work experience and i don't know what to do and i don't know where to begin i wan't to go back to school or even go to college and do something in my life please any advice on where to start.

I think you could do your leaving cert through a college of further education. You might be eligible for back to education allowance while you do. I think gotocollege.ie has a list of places that do adult education.
Since course start in September maybe in the meantime you could start preparing yourself mentally. You could ask your GP for advice about your depression and weight. Also would you join some social clubs to get you out of the house and doing some active things like a walk in the mountains? Look up meetup.ie for a list of clubs in your area.
There is support out there so good luck:-)

That's a tough situation to get out of - well done!

Repeating the LC or further education is a good idea. Now that you want to do more things, you have loads of options open to you. If you like gaming, you could learn to programme from sites like W3 schools - which is free. With work like programming, projects you create mean more than education or a regular CV.
    http://www.w3schools.com/

If you're interested and want to meet people, you could go to something like Coder DoJo:
    http://coderdojo.com/

The great thing about coding, is that very little people know about it even if they have all the degrees possible - you'll be starting out the same as them!

Even the big four accountancy firms have school leaver programs. A manager I know in a big 4 started this way. Loads do it, but one example is here:
    http://www.kpmgcareers.co.uk/school-leavers/school-leaver-programme

You could also go out by yourself and run your own company if you have an idea. Of course getting capital when you haven't been working would be difficult, but it's difficult anyway.

There's no point in thinking that no one will want you....you need to think positive! There are so many options when you are willing an eager to work.

I actually know a guy who didn't do LC, was caught up in drugs and no one thought he would do well. He's now working in a big 4 firm after going back to college and very happy!!

    Good luck!

thank you very much i will check these out.

Well done for getting out of that environment. Not easy.

If I was you I think my first step would be to join weight watchers or slimming world. It would do two or three things. Firstly it would help get weight down and make you feel better about yourself.
Second it would get you meeting people outside of your previous destructive circle.
Third it would help you setting goals and working to achieve them.

Then i would enrole in some course. See previous posters.

I say join WW first because this is something you can do immediately.

.....now if you had any good contacts or family you might be able to ... bend the truth ...on he work experience thing.

General work of course...no point lying and saying you're a biologist and going for a fancy job.
Maybe a nightcourse for the junior cert would be a good start, a few nights a week. Or some fetac courses.

Go see a fas placement officer first thing Monday, make you feel you're getting moving.
