I got the form today saying that I was accepted to mark again next year. Just wondering does anyone know for definite if the pay was cut for the second level exams under HA? Or was it 3rd level exam marking that was cut? Tried phoning the SEC today but no answer.

I often thought that if you signed it but snuck in your own ' addendum' "subject to last year's rate" then thats as good as a legal contract right there! I heard from other teachers that the rate is due to be cut also but havn't seen anything written down either. Next few years you'll probably have to pay to not correct given the way things are going.

I might try this so! Won't be marking if the pay is any less than what I got this year!

It's the third level exam pay that was cut. Third level lecturers were paid in a lump sum (like sns) to correct their classes exams. It was cut under HRA.
