I'm not sure where to put this so please feel free to move.
I'm currently at college in Cork but I'm from Louth. I'm quite ill and I was wondering if I could ring up any GP to make an appointment despite never being there before?

I'm sure any GP will be happy to take your money. I've switched doctors, and gone to the first available GP when its been an emergency. Only way to know is to ring a few in the area. :)

It's always handy to have a GP in the area you are living in - despite where you are from. I moved to Dublin for 10 years, and obviously had to have a GP there. I then moved back home, and just went back to my old GP again.

Your college probably also has a doctor you could see.

Does the college not have a doctor? They're generally free/reduced price?

Find a doctor's surgery in the phonebook.

    Ring and make an appointment.

That's literally all there is to it.

To the best of my knowledge UCC and CIT have doctors available to students at a low price.

I've rarely been to the same GP twice, so yes.
