    Fage?

Parsnips! For some reason I hadn't had them for ages. Not sure why. They're so tasty. I'm in love with a root vegetable (no homo).

Had a mountain of parsnip today too. Bit of honey on it. Aswww yeah.

    Fage?

    Bingo.

I also like glenisk organic yogurt with granola:)

Good place to get (cheap, if possible) Fage in Dublin city centre? I'm addicted to Liberte... I know it's not exactly proper Greek yogurt, and that it's full of sugar from the blueberry layer, but it's just so damn nice. €2 for 4 in Tesco.

    Fage?
Bit harsh, just cause he likes a woofty yoghurt.

Put on a 30kg weighted vest and I added 25kg to my OH press. The extra weight increased my mass giving me a bigger base to push from.

Greek yogurt=perfect snack! Especially the past two weeks with a 4-5hour commute a day!

Greek Yougurt is fcuking amazing when mixed with honey/jams. You should try and hunt down some Quark. 200g pot =24 grams of protein and only 126 calories.

I lied about the weighted vest thing, don't even own one Teeehehehehe, but it might work...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,390 ✭✭✭Stench Blossoms

I like greek yogurt. Quark tastes like yuk to me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,589 ✭✭✭JJayoo

Ya but the low calories allow you to add Honey/Jam. Quark is amazing plus it's a great ingredient to add if you are baking.

    Kilbeg-FatFree-Quark-Cheese.jpg

This the one brand I am able to find and it's expensive for such a small pot. In Gran Canaria I was able to buy a 500g pot for less than 2 euro so I'm hoping to find the same size/price pot over here.

No amount of honey would make me like quark.

    Bleugh.

Short time lurker and first time poster. Have been reading the stickies and a lot of the big threads and this interaction has summed up a lot of what I've learned about the Health and Fitness forum so far. Keep up the good work :)

If you mix quark / soft cheese with greek yoghurt, vanilla whey and sugar free strawberry jelly it makes delicious "cheesecake" its like crack!

    Typical 250g portion would have 292cals 33g protein, 12g fat, 12g carbs

    do it!

I feel the same, I definitely saw some improvements in not using shakes to meet my protein needs.

Demolished far too much Halva with coffee

Got some rice cakes - put on almond butter, mashed banana followed by a layer of cottage cheese. Was really nice!

I enjoy all the three items but would never have thought of putting cottage cheese with the other two. My guilty pleasure is peanut butter, jam and banana on whole grain soda bread accompanied by a cup of milk.

Anyone been to Bison Bar? I am considering going on Sunday to devour some beef.

    Is it any good?

I went to Pitt Bros a couple of weeks ago. It was nice but I found the sauce that the meat is cooked in fairly overpowering.

I also met Rob Kearney in there - he asked for a photo but I was in a rush :pac:

    Bison > Pitt Bros.

They do a double meat main. Don't bother getting the chicken.

I generally eat about 500g of meat most days for dinner when I'm working nights anything less and I do be still hungry.

Bison Bar meh imo, anytime I've been have never left full much like Pitt Bros and the food tastes nearly identical I prefer Aussie BBQ over both of them.

If you want a good feed of meat check out the Butcher Grill now it can be pricey depending on what you get but my god was there last week nicest steak I've ever had.

Yea I love the food in Aussie BBQ but I am meeting family in town and it just seems a bit of a ball ache to go back out to Richmond Street.

Maybe try the counter? Bottom of Grafton St facing O Neills pub, they do a burger in a bowl so no bun and you pick what goes in the bowl with it. Food is nice to.

Trying to convince my room mate that my protein intake will not destroy my kidneys (aiming for about 1g per pound of bodyweight at the moment).

I think this is a losing battle.

Yes. Very. It could only taste like the bit of sick that just arrived in my mouth.

cottage cheese = protein, jam = strawberry
So unless you have spontaneous strawberry protein flavour in your mouth, then afraid you are wrong.

All I ate yesterday was meat and strawberries. Separately. Beats rock, paper AND scissors. And your cheese and jam abomination.
