Under-sink pipes leaking when water sudsy

I have pipes under my sink that form a small leak when the water is sudsy, but don't leak when water is running straight through.

The leak forms around the top screw-on valve just under the gulley fitting.
    All white PVC fittings.

Any idea why this might happen?

Could it be that the overflow connection from your sink to the waste is leaking and the overflow is only in operation when you have a height of foam in the sink?

Hmm no I've tested the overflow and that's working without a hitch. Odd.
