Just wondering if the radio control function is work paying an extra €50 for this on a watch , i am on the look out for a new good digital watch and have settled on this one

Well when it's solar powered and radio-controlled, it just means once you keep it in some light, and not in a drawer for two years, you will always have the exact time. For you that may well not be worth the difference, it's up to you, all it means is that the time will update every 24hrs with the atomic clock. You will still probably initially have to set the time as it will not know what time zone you are in.

A radio controlled timing device only becomes necessary once you buy your first mechanical watch ...so you can check how far out the mechanics are within 24 hours :D

Some of those Casios can be annoyingly complicated to set the perpetual calendar correctly, in which case radio control to set it all up automatically is handy.

This may be a dumb question, but where exactly is the solar cell/panel?

I presume that it's just within the face of the watch, where else do you think it might be?

Yes, It must be the darker band on the outer edge of the glass.

Yes indeed, it's the narrow dark band. I'll happily spend the €50 to get the radio controlled and solar watch it I was you, but I'm biased as I already own a Casio PRW-1500. I'm well aware that at some point I'll have to get the cell replaced, but until then it's my most hassle-free ABC watch that I own (5 of them).
