Giro Air Attack Shield

I'm having a real problem with cold air effecting my eyes on descents while training on these winter nights.

I'm thinking of buying a Giro Air Attack Shield helmet in an attempt to help overcome this problem as I think the visor type eye shield on the Giro shield will better keep the cold wind away from my eyes, better than ordinary glasses.

Does anyone own an air attack shield and would they like to offer an opinion on the helmets effectiveness at blocking wind from hitting ones eyes?

Suggested alternatives would also be very much appreciated.

PS: I'm not looking for medical advice, I know what the medical problem is.

    Many thanks in advance.

Keep the wind out of you eyes and as an added bonus... water also!

Yeah, 1930s fashion is really on the way in.

Seriously though, it seems like an overly expensive if you already have a comfortable helmet. Are you wearing wrap-around glasses with large lenses? I wear glasses like these and although they look silly they're probably the most effective way of keeping wind out, short of goggles.

Things are so bad a pair from the 1930's in clear would be close to perfect.:D

I've tried a good few different wrap around styles with no improvement unfortunately. Thanks for the feedback btw, it's appreciated.

What kind of glasses do you wear currently? I've seen Oakley Radars and Monster Dogs recommended for this kind of issue.

is there a clear visor available for the air attack?

I have one, love the helmet, but haven't used the visor much. I normally use oakley jawbones and havent had any problems with my eyes when descending. I do ride a motorbike tho and the visor is open quite a bit so maybe i dont notice cold eyes so much.

I own Oakley straight jackets and a couple of cheapo pairs, dont know the brand. I've owned others but can't remember the brands.

    All shapes and sizes really.

I'll have a look at the radars and monster dogs, thanks.

I don't know if you can get the air shield visor in clear.

I'm a bit like yourself though, I like the look of it so I'll probably just get it:D

I own a pair of clear swim goggles so I'm gonna give them a go. I'm also going to "borrow" my sons down hill goggles and see how I get on.

At least it will be in the dark.....oh the shame....

I would look along the lines of ski goggles, plenty of variety there and sure to be something that you like

    EDIT

Not sure if you wear glasses or not but if you do maybe wrap around safety glasses might even work for you if you don't wear glasses.
