Can anyone recommend someone to do a bit of bodywork on a classic car?

I have a Triumph spitfire that needs some body work and a respray

    Thanks

    Try the classic car forum?
(And let me know if you find someone reliable - I have a Triumph GT6 in similar need)

try www.GVDautos.com in Walkinstown. Have used a few times and seen a good few classics go in there. Good prices too.

Or if it is not too major maybe try Hill Motors, Blackrock?

The major thing here is to do your research. Don't just take a business's word for it that they do a top class job, you need to speak to past customers.

There are 3 companies mentioned in the topic, by your statement, obviously 2 of them are 'reputable', however you have cast a doubt over all 3 of them, which is a bit unfair. Naming and shaming is one thing, but sometimes, an implication is far worse.

I've used Hill Motors for two different classics and was very happy with the results both times.

I wouldn't use, or recommend a company I had any doubts about myself. I have recommended gvd to a few people and all were very happy. Most of their work is on newish cars and crash repairs, but they also do a few classic restorations. I am certain there is no court case against these guys, but that's a horrible thing to have happened to a classic.

I see your point alright. I really do not want to mention the company though as it can lead to so much agro, and then I am the one who comes out of it looking bad.

I would probably be better off to PM the original poster regarding the company in question and take down my comment? Let me know what you think would be best

Good point. I've edited out the comments.

You though, should not be shilling a company that you have an interest in and disguise it as a good personal experience you've had with that company
