I didn't receive the letter from revenue with the ID no. and password,
After listening to lots of options on the helpline, I was asked by recorded message to leave a contact no. and my call would be returned within 24 hrs, well nothing's happened 36hrs later.
So what am I to do now?.

Thanks for that. Although we did try calling 1890 200 255, left a message. I presume they are just backed up or something and who knows when they.

Tried calling again and FINALLY got someone, only they could not help me. But the deadline has been extended until next Tuesday so I am to call back then. Hopefully getting someone that can actually help me.

If you have been paying by direct debit for 2013 there is no requirement to file for 2014, your payment option will remain the same. This is also the reason you didn't receive any notification.

Point 11 on attached link http://www.revenue.ie/en/tax/lpt/payment-options/direct-debit.html#section11

Well the least they could do , is send out notification of some sort and inform householders of their intentions for 2014 .

Why do they just assume that if 2013 was DD , that 2014 is also DD .

Revenue were clever enough in wording their letter for DD customers , which states the following :

quote '' Deductions for this value will continue on the 15th of each subsequent month unless you notify this office that you no longer want to participate in the Direct Debit Scheme .

They did'nt say in letter that DD was for 2013 only , nor say that DD would continue forever .

But even so , they could surely send notification of some sort .

I have the letter but havent bothered my ar5e doing anything about it as frankly life is too short to engage in the kind of telephone and online waiting people have been subjected to lately.

Im planning on paying in one lump in March. Can I do nothing until then and just send them a cheque at point? Or must I make an online declaration at some point and what is the penalty if I do nothing in advance of March? Thanks

We paid one lump sum in DD, not on going. So not sure how this applies.

I have been trying for the last couple of days to register a property, but keep getting the runaround, "you will have to talk to head office"
but they do not have a direct line.
Is there a form I can fill in and post to them

If you are only registering the property now I presume you only bought it in 2013? If that's so you do realise you are possibly exempt?
