Something I've noticed myself. Possible we just hear about it more in todays world of social media being used to raise awareness.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Are you suggesting they are all off at some secret club laughing at the rest of us?

They're missing because nobody knows "what is up with" them.

There's nothing fishy going on. Most of them are found safe and well. Some are found dead due to accidents or suicides and a very small percentage are murdered. The idea that there's some sort of Irish Ripper is mostly a tabloid fantasy.

the more people. I think is simply we're hearing about it more, and an increase in population would also mean more missing/more murders etc.

Hear about it far more and IMO it's gotten out of hand. A woman "went missing" last week from where I am, was on the front page of the local paper that week, the next day she was "found". God forbid somebody turns off their phone for an evening.

I think that we see more appeals for help finding missing people due to the success of some public appeals and the realisation that social media can help.

Besides the speculation in the thread, I hope that girl is found safe and well.

Report on Limerick's local radio station says that girl has been found safe and well.

Stress I imagine. I know of someone who went missing recently. There was posters, news bulletins, leaflet handouts etc etc.

The individual involved had had a nervous breakdown, went on a week long binge and tried to commit suicide only to be rescued by the ambulance service.

Very strange feeling to know someone that goes missing. Knowing they're most likely still alive but all of a sudden uncontactable. Weird experience.

The absolute sh1t storm they leave behind, they would want to have some seriously bad demons in their head to put their loved ones through it all.

    I've noticed this too.

    I suspect they maybe suicides.
