what happens to my jobseekers entitlement if I secure a job prior to getting paid?

As jobseekers claims are going through huge backlogs and may take months to be fully processed, what happens if someone manages to secure a job in the meantime?

Will they still be awarded payment due for the period of unemployment and receive this in arrears despite having to sign off prior to actually getting paid?

Yes. And while waiting for a Jobseekers claim to be processed you may be entitled to claim Supplementary Welfare Allowance which will be deducted from Jobseekers backpay.
