Flying to Newark after xmas with United
They have a codeshare agreement with Aer lingus and asked me for frequent flyer AL number.

Can I use a Aer Lingus lounge both at Dublin and United one in Newark?

    Thanks

    Nope,

Have to be travelling on plane with a Shamrock on the tail to get into the lounge and even then Aer Lingus have to have an agreement in place with a local lounge.

Only exception is if you are doing Dublin - Heathrow and onwards on BA and have Platinum status and travelling on a through ticket you can get into the BA lounge in Heathrow

If travelling business class you have access anyway

Will earn points for the trip assuming you are not in a very low economy fare class.

The Aer Lingus lounge in Dublin sounds like it has become a bit of a joke going by comments on a different forum.

Can be a bit of a zoo early mornings, but I find it quite a well designed space & the fare on offer tends to be no better or no worse than myriad other lounges across Europe & the US.

It's just a pity Gold Circle is such a poor programme overall.

It's not great these days. I'd echo a lot of what's been said in that other forum. It is more like a waiting room now all be it a comfortable one. It's a shame they don't follow the lead of other lounges and at least have a small deli with cold cuts etc or some packed sambos.. Would make all the difference. Another bugbear of mine is the size of the glasses so if you want to have anything other then a short as in a beer or some water one mouthful and you are refilling your glass again.
