We do Oral dosing, Generally use Albex of Curafluke.
Other Years we'd dose 2 weeks after housing.
This year I noticed Manure was watery, so we used Levfas Diamond (for Stomack worms) at 4 weeks after housing, scoured some of them, but can see effects now. We also give Vitiman drench to the thinner stock.

Teagasc? Why not ask your vet?

Zanil has been added to my routine here. I bought it in a few years ago :(

We get lost with all the different doses too.
Closmectin is what Dad uses but that is purely out of convenience - what the guy at the Co-op did say was to change the dose for the cows every few years as the fluke etc in the cows can start to become immune to the same dose used over and over.

Cheers for all the info lads, albex seems to be the main trend...is it a fluke and wormer or just one or the other?.

also does anyone use a pour on product for pre housing treatment of worms and fluke in cows?

Usually use albex, but this year lung worm was prevalent so used levafas diamond.

    It's a fluke & wormer,
Best read the small print, as allot of drenches don't cover everything.

Maybe you would want to hold on a second and ask what you want to dose for rather than asking what brand of dose people use. I will dose for fluke and lice in the cows, worms should not be a problem in adult cows but as I purchased a P/o ivermectin at a good price they got that this year. Fluke treatment will be a trichlabendazole (3 stages of fluke) so they will be dosed once they are in 3 weeks. Check what each dose kills, its price and if a combination or single action product works out cheaper. If you have labour available to dose that will also come into play.

Treating fluke would be my main concern in my sucklers with pour on being my preference of administration as i have very little help with stock at the minute.
