Maybe it's to do with sending 500 horsepower through a front-wheel drive setup, something like the Twenty Minuters in the RFC during WWI!

IMO vw should be designing some nice little sports cars ( gt86 competitors) not making silly golf prototypes. I think the market is going to move away the hot hatches towards coupes in the near future.

I very much doubt that... Hot hatches have been around since the seventies. What makes you think they are suddenly going to disappear in favor of coupes after 40 years?

I think it's a cool car, and nice enough looking but they kinda did the same thing before with the mid engined w12 golf.

Hot hatches were popular in the 80's and then again in the 00's but wiped in popularity in the 90's and early 00's and I think they might dip in popularity for another 10-15 years soon.

I would like to see what vw come up with along the lines of a coupe is all not another monster golf.

I think everyone comprehends what the car actually is, it's a concept car that doesn't work properly, looks felty as all hell and will never be made.
Last time VW made a Golf concept it was ****, somehow I'm thinking this will be more or less the same.

They should focus building cars that people may be able to buy someday. Seriously, even when Nissan did the Juke-R, it worked and they built a few more for people to buy, this yoke is just a Donegal lad's wet sock.

You do realise what concept cars are, right? They're concepts. They're there for designers to take the piss and build cars that they know would never make it to production. 90% of them don't even work. This happens to actually work, albeit with an exhaust thats mostly for show. They've mentioned the engine they've used is actually compatible with the MQB platform the Golf uses and could well make its way into a future model.

The Juke R barely worked after extensive changes and was bought by one person.

Yes, I know exactly what they are.
Generally with a concept car tht doesn't work, you may hear about it once and it'll slide into the background but everyone seems to be going ape **** crazy about this thing, that's what I don't get.
If it wasn't a Golf I don't think anyone would care.
