iPad Airprint Problem

    Hello

I'm trying to set up a printer (HP Deskjet 2540) to work with an iPad via WIFI.

The problem is that we can get the iPad to find the printer on the list of Wifi networks but if it is selected then the internet is disabled, meaning that I have to find an internet page to print and then manually switch from the internet wifi to the printer wifi.

The printer is Airprint enabled but when we search for the app in the app store we cannot locate it.

I hope someone can help with this problem. Thanks. Michael.

You shouldn't need an app to configure it. I have an HP one which is AirPrint enabled and it needed set up through the printer itself, on the on-screen display. If yours doesn't have that, then you'll need to set it up through a computer.

Printing from an iPad never involves switching wireless networks, it involves clicking print then searching for the printer there.

It's possible you need to update the drivers on the printer. But as Zcott says, you shouldn't need any app to print if the printer is airplay compatible.

What could be happening is you are connecting to the setup wifi connection of the printer. Which is why it looks like it is on a different network.
