Hey guys, trying to plan a pre-Christmas trip anywhere in Europe from 18th December-22nd but flights on Ryanair and Aer Lingus are crazy expensive on return obviously because of Christmas week, is there any crafty way of getting around this or just suck it up and pay?

Good luck with that, we had to book in August to get flights to Dublin on December 21 at a non-insane price. You're probably going to have to bite the bullet pay. Maybe consider getting to the UK and sail and rail from there?

    Define crazy expensive.

Lufthansa return to Frankfurt (which has a train station which will bring you to anywhere important in Germany with a fly & train ticket) on those dates for €243, including luggage, taxes, etc . . .

Mind you Aer Lingus will get you to Munich on those dates for €163, and that doesn't seem unduly crazy (for what you are getting).

I'm thinking of going away in mid december for a weekend somewhere and skyscanner is returning some seriously cheap ryanair flights, most places in the UK for €30 return, Oslo for the same, Paris and Milan for about €60 return. I guess it depends on the dates really
