I was considering doing Arts in NUIG next year and picking the following subjects:

    English
    Journalism
    Creative Writing
    Drama

I might substitute one of those subjects with Spanish as I heard it's very easy to learn :)

Has anyone done these subjects and tell me a bit more about them?
    Thanks :D

Journalism isn't an undergrad option at NUIG, AFAIK.

Are you planning on taking the B.A Connect in Creative Writing? If so, you'd be taking Creative Writing and three other subjects in 1st year before dropping one and keeping CW and 2 subjects in Second Year.

It is,I think...according to this anyway but I might be reading it wrong :)http://www.nuigalway.ie/courses/undergraduate-courses/arts.html I would be doing 3 years studying those 4 subjects, instead of 4 years

Sorry three of the four subjects you listed have restrictions:

    For Journalism and Creative Writing
Subjects in italics are specialisms that are only available in the relevant
    BA CONNECT programme.
    For Drama
The subjects of Drama in Group Two and Theatre in Group Five relate only to students registering for the Denominated BA (Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies).
I think they are on the tables for completeness and do cause confusion.

    It is now.

This is the first year it has been offered as a BA Connect course.

    Its limited to 15 places.

As others have already mentioned you cannot do most of those subjects unless on the specific BA Connect programmes which generally have points a good bit higher than the normal BA.

If you decide to do English you will cover in first semester of first year in fiction: Jane Eyre, 1984, Butcher Boy and A Handmaid's Tale, Medieval: Beowolf, Dante's Inferno and in Poetry its American Poetry

Any more you want to know on English or other subjects that may interest you. pm me

Big failure rate in beginner's languages, as people think they are easy. Oh Spanish is easy to learn... well up to Buenos días ... yes but people think they can skip lectures and cram notes... disaster... you can't do that with a language unless you are a linguist and have natural ability.
