minecraft suddenly wont let split screen work

Hi guys, Have 2 accounts and xbox gold and hd tv..so was able to play online and split screen until today. Any ideas? I noticed on 2nd profile i cant change from custom privacy settings to adult.it signs out and says when sign in the changea will be saved..but they stay the same.maybe this is the prob?
