Question about learners permit

    Hi all,

Applying soon to take my test, which I can take after my 6 months is up in January.

I'm wondering is the date I can take it after the issue date of the permit or the first issue date on the category?

I applied and received the slip for my licence on the 8th of July, but didn't receive it in the post until the 29th, but I had the slip that said I could drive on the 8th of July?

Will I be able to take the test on the 8th of January or the 29th??

Also, what would be the best center to apply for here in Dublin? Anyone know if there is much of a difference and if I can apply a few weeks before my 6 months is up so I can do it on the day for insurance reasons??

    Thanks,

    Curtis

The date is on the back of the Learner Permit.
For each category there is a start date. 991 is the code for a first issue in each category.
The 6 months will start from the start date of the category on your Permit.

The slip you have is only a receipt.
